We pottered back from the Northern Gathering, had a lovely meal at The Bull and arrived home in a deluge! Not a bad thing though as some of the EP90 splatter will have washed off the front of the Discovery.
An excellent weekend, sunbathing and relaxing for us! Thank you Gordon and Wendy!

My friend wanted his car out of the shed, so had to move evrything including S2a, good excuse to have a blast around, well maybe not a blast more of a tootle...
Not sure why the photo is rotated, the tootle wasn't that extreme...

After a false start in March I finally got the keys of a storage unit in my street last week :first
Due to the distance to my parents' place I've not been able to take the 88 out for a proper drive for almost two years.
Finally having a place to park the Land rover meant that yesterday it was time to embark on the 3,5 hour drive (avoiding motorways) to it's new home :RHD
It was great to be behind the wheel again and I'm happy to say that the journey went without a single mishap :cheers

Looks like it went Surrey / Hampshire way judging by the tow vehicle and trailer phone number?

Is the buyer a member?

Swapped out my 7:1 head for a 8:1 yesterday. Old head is original but one valve had quite a lot of valve seat recession and the valve guide was visibly oval. Had been getting big smoke on start up. Going to get the old head refurbed, hardened seats, new valves and guides ect. Quite a difference, can go up hills in 4th now. Had the usual issue of tappet adjusters hitting valve cover so stuck together two cork rocker cover gaskets with RTV and it's now great.

If not already part of the plan, I would get the old head skimmed for 8:1 also.

Moved the LWT out into the sunshine ready for titivating before selling ...

She was a little reluctant to fire up. A few squirts of petrol down the carb eventually got her going, once warmed up she was idling as smooth as ever - not bad for not being run for 18 months and petrol that's 3 years old at least  :first

Out with the polish and dusters now ....

Looking good Alan. Particularly like the reg number. You going to give the bonnet a dusting of DBG before putting the truck up for sale?

That's the spare bonnet. The OE bonnet has been painted, just needs all the bits bolting back on.
You can see the door bottoms and tops, I also have a spare set of door bottoms, and of course the Undercover tilt I won at the Ripon Rally.

Are you keeping fish in the right hand headlight? Looks like a swimming pool in there.

I'll be very interested to see how well it sells as mine will be on the market at some point once it has been built. I don't need two headaches. One is more than enough for anybody.

We might need to talk about door bottoms. I think I'm going to need at least 1.

Excellent. As we know, our trucks tend to photograph well and that was the one thing that drew the eye a bit.

Well done for your previous off-load by the way. Very tasty package - win-win all round i thought  :cheers
