Exmoor trim door cards
« on: January 09, 2023, 01:38:57 PM »

Does anyone have hands on experience with the Exmoor Trim door cards? I'd like to know if they are suitable when you have the door tops removed.

Cheers

  Hi George
If you want to know can you just remove the top piece of trim and the door top yes you can. The armrest and bottom trim piece with the map pocket (if so equipped) stays in place.
You have room to remove the 2x 11/16th nuts to remove the door top by only removing the top upholstery trim piece.

Don't expect what is left of the lower door trim to be nice to look at however.

Assuming the Exmoor ones are made in the same way as the originals, they were never meant to be separated so the top of the arm rest is not nicely trimmed so with the top part missing, you will have a pretty ugly door trim with a gap down the back.

Thanks for your replies Victor and Craig. Exactly what I needed to know.

Does anyone have any pictures?

Only of complete original door trims.

The Exmoor ones used to have an additional slot at the front for the series III door stay slider to fit. Not sure if they now offer specific series 2 and 3 ones or if you just get the series 3 item still?

  Hi1959

Here's a pic for you, and yes there is a nice big 1 inch gap with the top piece removed for summer topless driving.
I guess you could stuff a piece of foam or something there when the top piece was off?

Very nice looking rover Craig, looks like mine.

Nothing like as pretty or period correct, I found these. They're not by LaSalle or other aftermarket source - definitely a stock LR part. The pockets even get their LR part number [MWC9275LOY]. Chevrons don't work for me, needs must - on mine now. Not pretty, a shadow of those shown above, yet about as practical, roomy and user friendly as I've seen.

Late S3 or colier era? Never did find what they are. Does anyone know when or what these were fitted to?

I would say Ninety or One ten type . Extract from parts list is not exactly the same

The style of the pocket looks like the back door of a mid 90s Disco......just not cracked or lying on the floor when it's dropped off 🐱

Gres is correct, research the number MWC9275LOY and you get the pocket itself, NOT the door card.

Ooh, I like being right 🤠 Thanks Davidss.

Craddocks have a door card like Petrolfours, ex mil and ££! Part no DA1642.

In my experience, part numbers starting DA are created and used by Britpart. Nothing wrong in that, the design may well copy a Military special or Rover part, but I'd be wary of using the term 'ex-mil' in conjunction with a DA part number.

The prices ensure they are unlikely be attached to any door I was responsible for, but that's just an opinion.
If they are selling there are obviously customers who think differently :-)

Regards.

Derek, the cards shown in your Parts diagramme are for early split-door/sliding window One Tens only.

And they are like hen's teeth in reasonable condition, because the above vehicles were only sold for 15 months.

Feel free to contact me, if you have any! :-X
