Bonfire night, as a child in London was amazing. Smoke everywhere, lots of fireworks, not anything as loud as now. Fire engines everywhere. Good memories.

Later, in the Fire Brigade, not so much fun.

Where else can youngsters buy explosives over the counter (other than in the form of match heads)?

Personally I'd be glad to see a ban on fireworks given the amount of hassle they cause, and as for celebrating Guy Fawkes failure to blow up parliament, perhaps if he'd succeeded we'd have something worth celebrating :whistle
