I have only given names to two of my Land Rovers.

The Series One, 109 inch Station Wagon is called "Stretch".  Because referring to it as the Series One, 109 inch Station Wagon is too much of a bleedin' mouth-full!

My SIIA diesel is called Legless.

I really did not need another Land Rover - so the words of a song came back to me when I found I had "accidentally" bought it:

"Wide-eyed and legless, I've gone and done it again....." :agh

Neither of the two Land Rovers I've owned has had a name, though I've toyed with "Titan" for the current 109 Station Wagon with its parabolics and full length roof rack. (Reg letters are TTA).

My (ex) wife called a red Nissan Micra "Rosie" and I have a Skoda Fabia SDI known as "The Slug" after its eyeball squashing acceleration (68 HP NA diesel).

My Eriba Puck was named "Helga" by its last but one owner.

Mine was already christened by a PO before it came into my hands..... BUT, I don't like the name! This has not been helped by the fact that it's name is the same as that of my first car - a VW Beetle - and that name will always be associated with that car....
Consequently I don't refer to my SIIa by it's previously given name - however I do refer to it with great affection and it is generally known as 'The Landy'... hardly innovative, but suitably utilitarian and thereby entirely appropriate given it's uses!

Mine don't have names, it's either "The Defender" or "The old/red one" used to differentiate which, now I say it, are their names  :thud

Not really a car name person.  Mine are No.1 and No.2 (no toilet references please).
My wife calls No.1 'Pisky' as it has the reg PSK, but that's women for you!  I do occasionally use far worse...

Ours all have 3 letter 3 number registrations, 3 are known by the reg, the S1 lab is known as the 107,but our Romahome camper was christened by my wife as Rosie as it is her rose cottage.

12 seater is called 'jumbo' due to its size and having 747 in the reg.

My pal had an 1953 86 called 'trixie' it had a colonel bogie horn.

His brother had a 1951 80 called 'vlad' possibly due to have the external door handle that had a tendency to impale the unsuspecting.

The Series One, 109 inch Station Wagon is called "Stretch".

Well, no-one spotted my (deliberate  :whistle) error.

There is, of course, no such thing as a Series One, 109 inch Station Wagon.

Pay attention at the back.......... :-\

True S1 lab station wagons were 107 right to the end and were never available with the 2l diesel engine.

My first series (a series 3), being blue and with reference to the side lights having reminded me of those atop of daleks was christened the “tardis”.  Now sold on, I then got to thinking about my series 2.  Initially, I had thought to call her “m” in reference to a certain popular film franchise, and that having lived in Birmingham for a bit, I liked the reference to the various M motorways.
However, having recently got this on the road and plated (registered and give a licence plate here across the pond) she is now christened Luna as in Lunar Rover.  The last three digits of the licence plate is LNA.
My new project a ‘57 Series 1 is yet to have a name.  But it might take me a good few years to get this on the road, so plenty time  :whistle
