Natty Canvas Bags... Bit O/T
« on: April 10, 2020, 02:08:20 PM »

Just day dreaming really...
Hopefully we'll get let out for good behaviour in time to to go to the Summer Rally in Ripon.
I'm looking forward to getting the 9x9 up and doing some serious chilling.

Herewith some recent retail therapy via Guy Ropenall....

A natty canvas bag for my sleeping bag, note the pseudo NATO code with all the zzzzz'ds  :-X

And, absolutely essential for the wannabe upmarket camping convenience... a three-roller canvas bag to ensure a dry spider-free experience at crucial moments.  Anyone know what that NATO number is !?!??!

Since most of the usual summer shows are cancelled you won't see Guy Ropenall at his usual haunts this year, but you can find him on ebay and facebook.  He has loadsa good stuff you can't do without!!  And he'll make you a nice tool roll, or bespoke bag, etc.  Great presents for people too.

Like for all small businesses it would be good to lend our support at this time, and now is a good moment to get your orders in before the post liberation rush!

All the best

Nice advert.
Shouldn't this be in the For Sale section?  ???

Kev

Matt (Guy Ropenal) is not selling, Suzanne is singing the praises of his products, I am sure that if he was putting an ad on it would be in the right place.

Suzanne, I do hope your bog roll bag doesnt have the same words stencilled on as Fluffle Valves.

Thanks Peter

Just to clarify and confirm Matt doesn’t have anything to do with my post, it’s not an ad, it’s a bit of info saying these are nice products, well made, a bit of fun, handy for camping especially for the many 9x9 owners in the club, not easy to get hold of due to lack of shows this year.

As mentioned by Peter, Matt is happy to stencil a bespoke message on your bog roll bag... Fluffle’s version is more... Ummm.... graphic!

Many of us are going through some grim times, let’s do what we can to be supportive.

Indeed, Matt made a custom bag for my 9x9 that opens wide, with a flap down the side, 12x12 style. Means it can be planked onto the canvas rather than trying to stuff the tent into a bag from the top, never fun at the best of time, horrific if the canvas is wet.

We often recommend things that we have bought to others on here.  I recommended GDI earlier tonight as a supplier of fuel tanks.

Tony Wood often gets recommendations (quite rightly), he and Matt are well known to many of us on here.

I am with Suzanne we need to support them if they have the things that we want.

Another recomendation here for Matts work. Has done a few bits and bobs for me, I've actually got a camp bed there for repair and a bag making for it currently.

Yep, a great bloke - keep it in the club   :cheers

Matt has made replacement bunks for my Dormobile restoration, and currently has an original Carawagon awning of mine to copy, when he gets time   :o

Oh, and he sells hats as well    :tiphat

Cheers,
Robin.

Well, I think they look great!

I don't have a 9x9 tent so don't need a tent bag, but I do fancy a canvas kit bag  :cool

Matt, Guy Ropenall and Counter Rivet are all alter egos of the same person.

Hope you don't take it too much to heart kev

Arcade all keen to make comments when things are not right and it is nice to be able to recommend someone who produces good stuff.

I don't take anything to heart, hey! - it's only the internet after all. ;)
