Adjustable V Belt?
« on: October 13, 2019, 05:50:43 PM »

Does anyone know the protocol of measuring adjustable drive belts?

Is the width taken from the wide part or the narrow part?

Need a drive belt for a lathe.

Kind regards
Kevin

You measure the wide part of the belt. The manual for my Viceroy lists the belt to be an A section (1/2") and 4' 2 1/2" long But that seems very long to me. However as its a link belt you can make it any length you want. Make sure your sitting down when you get the price for a box of link belting !!!!

Thanks for the reply.

Rather than look on line, I thought I would see what price Eriks was. I got the suck through the teeth and it’s dear stuff, that.

Long and short £20 per meter. I can live with that. Just shows the internet would have been a lot more expensive with potential quality issues. Always worth speaking to a good quality factors!

Internet is not always cheapest.
I bought 4 new 4ft LED batten lights for my garage.  Local Electrical wholesaler £12.50 each.  I couldnt get near that on the Internet.
