mystery part 1969 Nada Dormobile
« on: August 06, 2022, 02:01:01 PM »

  Hi Guys

Does anyone have any idea what this black 2 hole part is for or does? I have asked this question before (maybe a year ago) I'm still curious.

I did find out what the other 1/2 round screw on piece was for (asked at the same time) that's the seat stop for when you flip the front seat backwards on the Dormobile to access the under seat propane tank storage locker.
My 62 dormobile just has a simple piece of flat metal screwed to the door pillar instead of that fancy 1/2 round stopper.

Victor I bet it's a uniquely lefthand-drive part which only 10 others in the world have! And they're all on your continent!

  Hi Jeremy

Maybe, I just hope its not a safety critical part that I forgot to reinstall , I guess time will tell, (better make sure my wills up to date).

Hi Genocache

I know it came off this 69 Dormobile, I just cant figure out where. Maybe it is a Nada thing and not Dormobile related at all?

  Thanks  Victor

I never had a Dormobile, I did have a NADA 109, I'm thinking it goes under the seat base to bolt the seats to. I posted your pic and asked on Guns and Rovers. Somebody has to know. What is the number on it?

Hi genocache

  The # is     NO.C-23-3-SA

Dormobile seats are way different than normal rover seats, but maybe? I'm out of ideas.

Thanks for putting it on guns and rovers, good site not as good as this one of course but good lots of intelligent fellows on there.

Thanks again, I'm starting to lose sleep over this, I now need 3 cups of :coffee to get going in the morning.

The ends of that plate look quite uneven like it has been ground thinner with an angle grinder of something?
If that did happen it's possible the original stamping was longer than it is now.

Maybe not a Land Rover or Dormobile part at all?

Craig.

Do the holes line up with anything such as the turn screws for the tipping seat or the centre seat belt anchor points?

Anybody thought of emailing Dormobile and asking them?
