The chassis number relates to a 1959 S2 swb diesel. He knows what he's doing is just selling the V5 but in a clever way. Well dodgy.

why is it dodgy? There is no indication that you don't get the vehicle as well as the paperwork, and they appear to match. It's only dodgy if the person purchasing it transfers that ID to something else. I don't see there is anything dodge about this sale itself ???

Seen a few of these conversions (typically home made) in to sprayers etc. Always though it's a share someone doesn't rebuild one as is, would make an interesting rally exhibit but fundamentally a PITA as you'd have to trailer it everywhere.

Ebay advert says

109 chassis 1982 chassis

But the chassis is SWB, so someone may be lucky and it it is the original SII 59 SWB Chassis maybe the original chassis number will be on the front dumb iron?

You could fit a new chassis though, and stamp the correct number on it?

Assuming you made it fully road legal - brakes, lights, etc, has it actually been significantly modified?

Or someone could pinch a Series 2 and  stamp that chassis number on it.
