Thanks for posting that link G6anz, I bought that instrument cluster for and finally fitted it today.
I've left the numbers upside down because it's fun seeing who notices things like that.
I moved the alternator light to the unused cold start light so that was a nice easy fix.
Very pleased to have a built in voltmeter for £13

 :cheers

Looks good. I think that there was a voltmeter fitted to land Rovers that had the 11AC alternator with the separate regulator and relay. Although Wittsend's diagrams show them as having an ammeter.
I'm certain my original one (that was stolen) had the 11AC with the separate relay and control and a voltmeter. Both were betond restoration so were binned, if I knew then how rare they were I'd have kept them.

I decided to go with a USB socket with a digital voltmeter built in - like this auction: #165607094520
The socket flap covers it when you don't want to see it, but I tend to leave the flap open so I can see the voltage display all the time. According to my multi meter the read out is accurate too.

One comment of note I have a radio/mp3 player fitted in my landrover after fitting a usb charging socket in the casing for my radio could not get good reception found out from another forum that the usb are switch mode and not shielded so causes interference on the radio.
Luckily I fitted a three position switch so usb is either ignition live off or permanent live for charging when camping.

Hi,

May I suggest that there may be a need/market for replica pressed aluminium panels, similar style to the instrument panel, but in various lengths, suitable for covering the gaps in the full width of dash, with the option of having them hinged.

Took Wittsends tip at the start of this topic, fits nicely. Got this double USB from auto electric supplies. Wired it into the switched green wire circuit
