If Avon Rangemasters (AKA Ditchfinders) are made at the Melksham plant, their days are numbered as the plant is closing. Won't solve my bugbear about the cost of TMs either.
I was actually thinking of these tyres as my first choice but like other have said they are difficult to find. The plant closing probably explains the lack of availability.

Yes, thanks autorover1. I knew it was something to do with the raised lip but not the exact reason.

Giving a detailed explanation, stating a source or talking from experience is always more useful than parroting.

Snatch Land Rovers used tubes and run flat bands on early Wolf rims, until is was decided to stop using tubes. Used to fit 235/70-16 tubes in to Discovery 1 wheels on armoured Discovery S1 for RAF/Army until runflat bands were used instead.

Didn't realise the old Avon Rangemasters had been discontinued. Pretty good tyre for my use. hope I don't need another one anytime soon.

....I happen to have a set of run-flat inserts that came with a set of WOLF rims.

Go totally retro and get some Weller 8-Spokes.  :tiphat

Craig.

Did folks fit wellers to make use of 15 inch tyres or were they tubeless when all others of the time were tubed?

I bet there are some still around but it's just a matter of knowing where.
Best bet is to consider another brand. If I remember rightly they were only ever made in batches and some were tubeless.

If Black Circle had them, that price would at least include vat, delivery, fitting, balancing & disposal costs.

However, John Richards Surplus would, if they had them, charge £180 including vat & delivery but nothing else  :agh

If you search Avon Rangemaster Tyres you can get the Avon site and then send them an email asking whether the tyres are still available.

  Hi

Here's another choice and you do not have to buy 50 tires to get the deal, a friend over here has them on his 88 and is very happy with them. They look like the old Dunlop Triple Tractions land rover used to equip rovers with.
