Are Alpine windows the same size on S11/111 88"/109" and the same as 90/110 ???
On my 88" 11a they are about 85cm long

From what I know they are 850mm x 130mm.  But - the glass in a Series is 5mm and that in the Defender is 4mm.

Would that be for 88/90 and 109/110's ?
Thanks for your mention of thickness, I never thought of that!

The dimensions?  AFAIK they are the same for each, only the thicknes changed.  The S1 glass was longer though.

Not sure if this makes much difference, but the change from 5mm to 4mm glass on windows took place in 1987 model year. Presumably the alpine lights changed at the same time?

The Series One SWB SW have longer Alpine glass.
The Series One LWB SW is the same length & thickness as all S2, S2a, S3 & 90/110 up to 1987.

I have removed my Alpine windows and wrapped them up very safely in bubble wrap until they are needed again.

I could never remember that date, so thanks DW.

It makes a huge amount of sense.

They introduced wind-up windows in June 1984, and anyone with these windows in 5mm glass knows how heavy they are!

The winding mechanisms weren't too happy about them either......
