Well that's kind of cool that Dormobile also did vehicles like that not just campers, I never knew that.

I wonder how many of these Customs and Excise Series vehicles still exist, in anything close to original condition? :hummm

A cracking Series One !!!

Also a nice treat to see some original size skinny wheels / tyres  :first

I doubt the dented wheel rim will affect price at all ... lol !

The LU518's made me smile ... it has the clear segment of course but it points at the road not the plate ... minor silly detail of course.

I'd love to buy it ... as would others  :RHD :RHD :tiphat

Another silly detail!

The guards that are painted on the side to illustrate London are carrying SA80 assault rifles post mid 1980's rather than the Lee Enfield rifles that are on the original vehicle and contemporary to it.

Sorry to nit pick!

Looks like it is on 6.00 x 16" wheels.
As a 107" / 109" wouldn't it have have 7.00 x 16" or even 7.50 x 16" originally?

Craig.

  Hi Craig

I remember Stuart (currant owner) going to great lengths to find those old original style tires so I kind of think that's what it had on it when he got it. (Right or wrong)?

To answer several questions above, this is the only on-the-road survivor which I know about, from the batch of 7 or 11 produced by Martin-Walter Dormobile in 1969.   This example is in Czech Republic, having gone through many hands in Austria and Germany.    As of several years ago, the owner named Alex had totally dismantled the rig.
Compare this with my blue rig, they are identical to my knowledge.
Let's see if I can import the photo, I've never done it from a "file" before....
