There's a sign like that in the pub I'm using as a temporary measure as my regular watering hole is closed (temporarily I hope).
This sign reads "Alcohol because no good story starts with a salad."

On the subject of stopping, I have stopped or been flagged down on a couple of occasions.
These days I usually keep it to Landrovers or general 'old' cars.
Some years back I drove past a young lady with a Mini on the hard shoulder of the M55, she was actually walking to the 'phone.
It was torrential rain and I felt bad, but it was not long after the Marie Wilks Murder. I carried on and felt awful.

I will generally stop to render assistance, particularly if I feel that a vehicle is in a dangerous position on the road. For some bizarre reason, I accumulated a ridiculous number of Warning Triangles in the Spare wheel storage, they are cheap and I don't care too much if I don't get them back. Case in point I happened across an accident where a Car had run into the back of a Lorry on the A45, busy Trunk Road. Driver was out but the passenger was pinned into the vehicle. Before any Emergency Services arrived, folk were attending to the lady, but all were vulnerable, so some S2C Yellow Jackets and the Triangles were deployed. I reduced the traffic with the Triangles so that the responders were safe, taking the road down from 4 to 1 lane. When services arrived, they had easier access, and then the Police closed the road completely. There was no happy outcome to this, the passenger passed away, and any issues of kit deployed seemed wholly irrelevant.
