That's a Series 3 bulkhead isn't it with the full width drainage channel?

I don’t think so!?  :agh

Ordered from Shielder Chassis a year ago, Late series 2a (1970) suffix G was what I ordered. To late now if not.  :stars

Fitted my new recaibrated speedo to match the bigger tyres I put on a year or so back, very nice work from Dr Flannery, matched my phone gps speedo nicely. Decided to fill up with petrol, nipped back home as I'd forgotten my mask, pulled out of the end of the road and bang - looks like a halfshaft has gone.
Hit yellow button and went home.
Next job..!

Looks OK to me!
My '61 original bulkhead has the same rain channel - and your screen hinge fittings are correct.
Panic off!
Not sure where the OP was looking.

Yes it is, it’s been great, held up to the weather great. Very hot in the summer. Easy to put up with 2 helpers.

Had to put some anti freeze in the 109 the other day. Driving to walk the dogs this morning, noticed the distinct curry smell of fresh antifreeze. Check under the bonnet revealed a small leak from the bottom of either the thermostat housing or the Otter switch.

Decided to change all gaskets in the thermostat housing assembly and change the gasket under the Otter switch.

Got the thermostat housing off with no issues. However, 1 bolt sheared off when I loosened the Otter. So had to carefully drill out the broken bolt and re-tap the hole 2ba Also cleaned the threads on the other 2 bolts.

Cleaned everything up and reassembled with new hoses, gaskets and joint compound.

My mistake. I thought Series 2/2A bulkheads had just a short channel on either side.
Defenders have a seal on their drainage channels. I fitted one to the new bulkhead on my Series 3. The seal needs a short length trimmed off to fit.
