The plans work well dont they!!

Plenty of material at the tip, go and cut the back out of a settee

Peter
I'm not sure our tip will let you go cutting up old leather sofa's at the moment. Although the queue hasn't been to bad when i've been.

Nothing done on my Series II today or yesterday but yesterday I did buy it a companion. Two station wagons in the barn now.   :cheers
I'll get a picture of them together sometime soon.

Needless to say, one needs a lot more work than the other does!

Craig.

Andy they wont let you do anything at Chorley tip.  They will let you in with the land rover though.
You need to see one in the queue and get at it before you get in

Oh, Come on now Dave!
You must provide photos or it never happened!  :coffee

Okay, okay, I'll write it up with photos though it was originally done 20 years ago so I can't remember where I got the bits. ???

Dave.

Peter Yes i've always managed to get in with the land rover and on odd occasions before Covid-19 come away with stuff. I've asked them and they said if i could reach from the side and they dont see me. So i asked them to look the other way.

Made a handbrake gaiter using the plans from the forum.

I used some leather out of the offcut box and under guidance from my wife hand punched/stitched it together.  It's maybe not quite as intended but it was a nice distraction from reality for a while.  Leather work needles are blunter than normal sewing needles so you don't stab yourself either which is nice!
where did you find the plans please

They atre on this forum somewhere.

Just remember though that the handbrake one is for the big handbrake.  If you have a straight handbrake you will have to adjust the size of the hole for the handle to poke through but it is easy to do.

Drove it two Land Rover lengths up the garden and then back down again.  First time it has moved under its own steam with the rebuilt Diesel engine fitted.  Could not go any further because the steering wheel has not been refitted and it has absolutely no brakes at all.
