Newbury Sortout this Sunday
« on: March 29, 2023, 12:56:48 PM »

Anybody in here going to Newbury this Sunday? I plan to be there helping a friend shift a whole load of rubbish (perfectly usable bits of old Land Rover I assure you...)

If the weather's not too foul I might pop in. I enjoy being underwhelmed...

That's what we like... Happy customers! :tiphat
I agree though its nothing like as fun as the old days of Old Sodbury. Still, now that its just down the road, I might as well pay it a visit.

Ha! Just trying to manage my own expectations after my last over-enthusiastic visit!

The weather changes every day. Latest is cloudy and dry but it's likely to change tomorrow. I'll wait and see Sunday morning.

What do we know about the event, is there an entry fee, where is it?
I did look online but didn't find much information.

Quite a drive for me so not sure if it would be worth it or not.

Craig.

Here you go Craig,

I'd suggest it is quite a trek unless this sort of thing gets you excited...

May possibly attend,  could do with reducing some of my 6 cylinder collection of parts. Wait and see if the weather's going to be ok first .

I’ll be there with a stand as usual, mainly series 1 & 11 parts, with a smattering of coiler bits.

The weather looks ok for Newbury. Cloudy earlier on then sunny periods. Most importantly it's going to be dry. I intend to go, only about 25 miles away. I can give the 2.5 petrol engine an Italian tune up which it badly needs after just short trips for dog walking.

I’d love to attend but sadly my holidays and the dates for these events never align.
Need to buy some perfectly useable Landrover bits before they are all gone. The last time I went was about 25 years ago and it was great (and very easy on the wallet).

I'll arrive about 11am. I'll keep a lookout. I'll be accompanied by a black and white English Springer Spaniel.
