Gaydon Landrover Show 7-8th May 2023
« on: April 24, 2023, 05:44:32 AM »

Arrangements have been made for the Series 2 Club to have a Stand at the Gaydon Landrover Show, despite this event coinciding with the Coronation Weekend.
I have put out a Post requesting any interested parties to register their intention to attend, but I suspect weather and other events have perhaps allowed folk to be unsure of whether they can/will attend. I need to make a submission to the organisers, of the vehicles/owners which will be attending by the 28th April so this is a final plea for commitments.
The plan I have negotiated is that partial set up can be completed on 5th May, and vehicles attending need to be present before 9:30 on the Sunday/Morning.
There are some free tickets for attendance, however they are not transferable, so have said that I would prefer these to be allocated to those intending for their vehicles to be on display on the both the Sunday and Monday. Camping is available overnight.
I concede that I too have not been too proactive in advertising this show, but would appreciate if those wishing to attend, get in contact with me either by personal message, on this or Facebook. Don't use Westmids e-mail address.

Morning Edryd,
No functioning vehicle as yet, so can't help on that front. If you want an extra (sort of human) body on the stand (be that help or hindrance...), just let me know. Happy to go up to Gaydon for the day. As you say, free tickets should go to owners of vehicles on display.

I'm there for both days and have booked a hotel for two nights.

That's commitment for you!

Unfortunately it is to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the launch of the iconic One Ten, in March 1983.

Apologies to Series Two owners - but I'll come and see you on the Stand. :wave

Think I've pulled the fat out the fire, and we are on.
Pleased to have as many vehicles on the stand as possible.
had a message from Gareth?about attending with one, but no route, other than this, to say yes please!

Hi Edryd, can you just hit 'reply' to my message? Otherwise is there any other way we can chat? Cheers Gareth  :cheers

If you can tear yourselves away from the Pomp and Majesty of the weekend, Gaydon Landrover Show at the British Motor Museum is set up.
Thanks to Dave Puzey, Nigel Bishop and Andy Parker for help setting up the Marquee yesterday (in the middle of a Thunderstorm) in preparation for an early start on Sunday.
Not having done the show before, we are located very close to the entrance to the Museum, on a grassy knoll (don't know what the implications of that are?)
Anyway, if you're bringing a vehicle for the stand, I have passes, remember, that each pass is good for two bodies access.
If you are a visitor, come and say hello.

Oh and some help on Monday night to re-rig would be appreciated! I've work in the morning!

Thankfully to Edryd and co for an excellent day today, not quite as sunny but good people who more than made up for it.

Nice video of the day on YouTube here:

https://youtu.be/HvzZ3tlvmqo?t=4213

And our very own Series 2 Club members feature at 1:10:13

What a great looking day/weekend. Gutted I couldn't make it this year, especially as I'm fairly local.

Well done all.

Cheers Tom, the weather didn't half turn. Great line-up and turnout.

And here's another video, with appropriately dignified musical accompaniment for the 75th celebration:
