To Lane or not to Lane?
« on: August 30, 2020, 10:01:16 AM »

Just wondering....

Obviously COVID-19 is still rampant, but is anybody going out laning?  In small groups of course, socially distant, and with the requisite PPE....?

Look on the Events page.

There are such things happening, I believe.

From what I have seen locally, is has been going on throughout the lockdown.
I seen folk on other forums and faceache going out just recently all over the place and all going out on lanes.
We are now allowed to go green laning. I went out about a month back in the Peak District and I have three weekends in September planned for camping and green lane trips.

You are in your vehicle isolated from others, just like driving anywhere else, just be sensible outside the vehicle as you would in normal life.

Statistically, there is 0.8 of a person in my town of 22,000 people who might have COVID, my chances of meeting that .8 of a person are pretty slim, even slimmer if I go out on a rural lane.

Judging by the convoys of 90s zooming round this neck of the woods today, there's plenty of laning going on. Not all of it in a very responsible fashion I might add from what I saw this morning, so no change there then! So much for Tread Lightly!

A few of us went out in series 1’s todayon the Wiltshire/Somerset border. We met lots of dog walkers, cyclists and hikers(mostly friendly), a couple of motorbikes but only one other Landrover, and I think She was a farmer.
Despite the recent rain ground conditions were good and it would be hard to tell we’d been there.
Unfortunately I took no pictures(too busy navigating), but it was an excellent day to be out and we had some great views.

Round here there seem to be a lot of the "down from London" Suzuki Jimney and fully tricked out extreme off road 90 brigade. Smoke and mud as far as I could see, but maybe I'm just getting old and cranky. When I lived in London I came down and drove all the green lanes round here as well...
