RH insurance
« on: August 04, 2020, 06:46:23 PM »

I have my 2 Landys insured together with RH Insurance.
Today I got a letter saying that all policies held with RH are being transferred over to someone called A-Plan. Personally I have never heard of them. This is effective as 17th August. I suppose the test will be on renewal, price and conditions etc.

If you read the letter, as I did, the business has indeed been sold on to another set of brokers but still using the same syndicate at Lloyds.
The trading name RH and the people/staff you deal with will be same, as will the terms and conditions of your insurance.

This letter is to give you notice of the fact and the chance to cancel your policy if you do not like the new masters having your "data".

I can't think of a reason why not - our insurance data probably ends up in the same pot anyway ???

Me - I have filed the letter in the usual place  :first

I also got the letter, and my first thought was, - how much will my premium now increase next year...?

When Peter Best Insurance was taken over my premium, terms and conditions for my Stage 2 MGB GT remained exactly the same as before.

Yep - I got the letter too.  It clearly states that this is just a change of ownership, and nothing else will change, other than who holds the data.

So it's gone into the "File and forget" File........ :cool

RH just lost my business;

Been with them for several years with renewals around £90+. This year I asked to change the value of Dormy. Not an agreed value, just the declared value because it hasn't been changed since the first year. Premium went up to £150 ! I already had an online quote of £98 from Airsports Insurance Bureau at the new declared value. This includes European breakdown cover same as RH.

RH wouldn't come down in price at all so I went with AIB. I will sort out the evidence and get an agreed value as an important 'to-do'. No other problems with RH, but a 50% increase in the quote was more than I was prepared to stomach !

These situations are impossible to understand.  ???
RH increased my premium by shillings, I THEN hiked the value, and that was OK , the premium stood!
