There have been at least 2 series 2 amphibious land rover attempts, the first in 1962 (I cant find any photos of this but Sebastian Land Vinrage on Facebook has one in his collection)  I remember seeing a row of them at L Jackson and sons Owsten Ferry around 1990 and the next I know of is the 1965 OTAL version, well documented on the internet and I believe there is one in the Dunsfold Collection

The Dunsfold Amphibious 2A came to the 2013 Kent Club Rally.

Several had a "go" in it, but we never got it wet.

Hi,

That picture of the double-ended punt shaped "Original Jeep" has similarities to the vehicle I remember seeing in the cinema (American film, which I probably saw in the cinema, in the mid-to-late 1940s ... so don't trust my memory).

I think I saw "Hatari" a few years later .... does anybody fancy sitting on the front of a big 4x4 ... and dropping a rope over an angry, galloping, rhino's neck, then using the truck to bring it to a standstill.

I think the Baby Elephant Tango, originated in that film. Ask Alexa to play it for you if you are too young to remember.
