Picture Posting on New Forum???
« on: August 10, 2019, 09:03:47 AM »

Will we have any new options to cut and paste photos into our messages?

With Photobucket now locking down accounts unless you pay  and other so called free sites not so free

What would be nice is the ability to upload a photo like you do on ebay etc  :cheers

I use postimage which is free and easy, and gives you loads of different options on how to post. If youbcreate an account the images are permanent and  if you don't they last about a year.

"Flickr" is another one.

But, you can upload a photo by clicking on the Attachments and other options below. You see the link as you write the text for a new post. It'll come up as Choose File, then you do just that and choose a file from your folders. However, sometimes it won't upload if the file is too large.

Look Below and you click on the "Attachments and other options.

Then you see this, "Choose File" option. Click on it and choose a file. Once you have chosen a file it will show you what file has been chosen. Then click on "Post".

.jpg should be fine, I just changed such that extensions are now checked so just try again although it should have worked, in fact I have posted jpgs already. Can't imagine it's case sensitive but I'll test it

Yep both work fine... What size image is it, mail it to me if you wish and I'll have a look.

 :-\
When setting up a new SMF forum the default image file types are few.
AND
they are case sensitive.

All admin has to do is add to the list the more common file formats.
JPG is different to jpg and jpeg...

I've been using Imgur, no hassle so far and easy enough to use, I've got a couple of albums currently and you just click on the image then it gives you options including copy for use on forums (BBcode) so copy and paste, don't even have to use the forum insert image icon.
