Rebuilt steering box and refitted this afternoon. No more nasty clunking noise. This had been caused by PO missing a piece out when he must have rebuilt it.
Steering stop on passenger side  the next job - there is the remains of one so will be fun trying to get it out.

Put my new Undercover Covers tilt on - and took the tattered remains of my previous tilt down the local tip.....
You were extremely lucky to be able to go to the tip without a prebooked slot like I'd have to arrange.

The operatives were just waiting for a beautifully weathered tilt like this to fight over  ;)

Our tip is open as normal, every evening and Sat morning.  Sensible timings for the majority of folk. Landrover no problem, single axle trailer, so no problem with the Sankey.

I have to say that my local tip’s excellent. It’s closed on Tuesdays & Wednesdays,  but open 10.00 - 18.00 the rest of the week.
Never had a day’s problem with them in the 35 years I’ve been living here.

See a previous post about the shockingngly tattered tilt that literally was falling apart after less than 5 years. It’s me that’s delightfully weathered.......

I took the series to my local tip and for the second time the guy at the gate didn't recognise the reg as an even number. Our tip has odd and even reg days to limit the number of cars going to it. So I went on an even day, reg 890H, he thought it was a odd number ending in 9. To be fair though he did have to consult a scrap of paper to remind himself what were odd or even numbers!

Record the conversation, so that when you go there tomorrow, you can play it to the challenge you'll get for having an 'even' number!

Had to make this gizmo to insert some Rivnuts in the bulkhead, for Diesel filter mounting, because I don't have the proper tool.

A visit from Andrew, up in the area for a bike-ride. A nice bit of socially-distanced under-bonnet peering !

Nice sunny spin up to Loch Katrine for an easy cycle. Also picked up 25kg of malt and some packs of hops and yeast on the way ... and had a distanced cup of tea  outside geneMs place, while he laid some concrete that the dogs immediately walked all over ...
