Title: 109'' station wagon seat support bar
Post by: Birdsnet55 on October 03, 2022, 11:20:02 AM
So the question is, can I remove the seat support bar from a 109" station wagon. I am fitting some 90 seats and the bar is in the way. I can of course reshape it if it is essential.

Yep, take it out.
It's not structural in any way, only supports the seat backs and gives terrified rear passengers something to cling onto....  :whistle

It wasn't fitted in the later 110 models and they have the same B-pillar assemblies so quite safe to take out.
Keep it though as I bet they are hard to find should you want to go back to original in the future.

Craig.

I removed the one from my 109 and put Discovery seats in. The original seats were way too uncomfortable. The support bar doesn't provide any real structural assistance, it would probably bend up like a pretzel in any impact I would think.
