Any Leicester members free to assist?
« on: July 11, 2021, 04:23:55 PM »

I’m looking for three Leicester members to assist me for about half an hour one Sunday, to move an anvil.
It weighs 485lbs, so four should lift it safely.
I only need to move it roughly ten feet onto it’s stand.
I have two scaffold poles that I can lash to the anvil to lift it in the way a sedan chair would be lifted and carried.

Payment will be in the form of tea/coffee and biscuits.
Cheers. :tiphat

Give me a shout Kev when you’re ready. If I can tie in I’ll be happy to help.

You don't want to walk into that one dark night after a few too many sherberts. That would hurt...
Nice piece of kit - wouldn't say no to one of them.

They come up fairly regularly in farm sales  -- but you need deep pockets to win them nowadays.

Are you allowed to use it for its originally intended applications or is it for decorative purposes only?  :whistle

Nah, it's an ornament, can't see me shoeing any 'osses in the near future.😁

Equine footware isn't the only application, it's a handy thing to have around for all sorts of hot'n'cold metal bashing!

So.... no forge in the shed, then?
