This morning I have been in contact with-
https://bellautoservices.co.uk/store/immobiliser-removal-td5/
and they say on a Discovery TD5 they can remove the immobiliser if I send them the unit and they return the unit and do a simple mod on the wires under the bonnet and its done £200 +vat, all door locks work as before.
seems almost to good to be true, anyone used them or have a view ???

Sounds worthwhile and a job that would be best done before the system starts playing up  - "preventative maintenance".

Pete at BAS is a sound chap. Great customer service and work ethic, Known and respected within the tuning circles of the slightly more modern landies. I run one of his Intercoolers in the front of the 110.  :cheers

Just wanted to say thank you for all the advice, I've now got my OT Discovery immobilizer problems sorted and got it running better after a visit to this chap who is in my part of the world, but offers a full range of services by post, he is very knowledgeable on all TD5 issues, very helpful and very fair on his prices. I would recommend him if you have issues with your TD5
