When mentioning the heated screen bulk buy it's worth saying that the club also provided timer relay and wiring kits for those who wanted.

We've been asked by "Practical Classics" to contribute to an article about Clubs sourcing parts... Having spoken to them they've had a big response from Clubs. Many do not get involved at all, some are into massive amounts of production, £500k a year spend...

Our use of the Forum like this, to act as a communication hub for members to organise group purchases was a new angle, not mentioned by other Clubs. The chances are that we will get a "side panel" on the subject. I mentioned 3 group purchases of heated screens, the night heaters -Robin - cork wiper motor gaskets.... what else should I tell them about. I forgot to mention mirror brackets ?

Also - do we have any pictures that would work - a pile of screens ? ....and a good picture of a vehicle sporting its new wiper motor/mirror bracket/window/....

Thanks !

Gene

I missed this post originally.

The screen supplier does the same for a number of automotive clubs, but not through their forums. They can get pretty much anything made and some of the 'specials' can be very expensive indeed. When the company owner dropped off my screens it was because he was literally passing the end of my road to deliver something personally. That was a single screen with a substantial 4 figure price tag!

On the point of other items being made available through the forum, worth mentioning Craggle's decals and, whilst not so active on this forum, Catmint's decent replica footwells which were available before anyone else was making them (and still are, along with his door stay brackets).
