Very sorry for the prolonged outage  :shakeinghead

This was not of my or the Wittsend Elves doings.

Our ISP suggested we move to what's called a VM (virtual machine) server.
The migration failed - dismally - as you know.
We don't seem to have lost any posts - just the best part of a week with no forum to look at or post on.

Our ISP have restored us and put us back on the old server.

The moral of the story is:
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If ever there was a lesson to be learnt  :thud

The good news is I have a brand new forum using the latest SMF package - ready to go - which I can now develop at my leisure.
This would mean starting again and you would have to re-register - this is what we did back in 2019 with this version of the forum.

Must have been so frustrating, not being able to do anything to fix it and having to rely on the ISP to sort out the problem they created!

I am just grateful that we werent out as long as the LRSOC forum and this "old" forum is much more friendly than their "new" one

Sorry to hear that Alan and others. We'll try and make sure that nothing like this EVER happens again - and if it looks even remotely likely, we'll find a way to provide a backup to allow you to continue to chat, post and stay in touch  :cheers

Although I don't have the knowledge to contribute in any way, I have really missed my regular evening read of the forum. So a huge thanks to all concerned for their efforts to get us successfully fired up and back on the road.
