Title: Suffolk event - 18th June - Park in the Park + Greenlane
Post by: Chris Mortimer on April 17, 2023, 05:28:43 PM
Something I'm organising for any Series Landy owner but we're not going to turn away anything newer, in fact the more the merrier.    :cheers

Park in Clare Park - Suffolk.

A green lane run will be organised for the morning, ending at the park for lunch time.   :essen

Just an excuse to meet up and chat and it's free!!

By REGISTERING HERE (https://forms.gle/xwCJ5bx7tzAZsqjWA) we can give the park wardens and the on-site coffee shop an idea of numbers.

Look forward to seeing you :RHD

As the original post was a long while ago - and as the date is coming up soon - I thought this might be worth a bump.

For anyone attending we have a greenlaning route that will take around 1.5h.

The lanes were driven last weekend and are fairly overgrown so anyone participating will need to consider whether their experience will be affected by picking up a scratch.

We had a brilliant day today and I would like to thank Chris Mortimer for organising this event and Richard Allin for sorting out the greenlaning route. We had a good selection of land rovers covering most models but mainly series 2/2a vehicles obviously. I will upload some pictures later and being parked near the castle mound, I could get some nice high level shots.
Also I'd like to thank exile for standing in as a greenlaning leader at the last minute
All the best Gary

Another thank you to Chris.

When things run smoothly it is easy to forget the amount of work that goes into it behind the scenes.
We even qualified for a free drink at the cafe - and with the heat yesterday it was really needed!

Richard organised some good greenlane runs, some of which I hadn't done before.

I mentioned to my group about convoy procedure (concentrate on the vehicle behind you, not the one in front of you), courtesy to other ROW users on foot, and to stop and switch off engines if encountering a horse and rider (which we did).

If we don't want lanes closed, we need to make friends with those we meet on them....
