I’ve always use the NFU who have local offices nationwide and insure more land rovers than any of the insurance companies, costs £100 ......simple!
Whilst a few good companies offer good value like this once you step up the agreed value to what good series Land Rovers are now cost to replace for the price move quickly up :-\

All insurance companies are rockers and so don’t like mods

It may be of interest, today phoned Footman James, took the agreed value of the 11a up by 5k, left the other series as before and said I thought the cost of the policy was to high and they reduced the total cost by £150 including the higher agreed value on the 11a, it seems its always worth asking :tiphat

I've had the pleasure of dealing with footman James on several occasions, albeit not for my series 2, and always rung them, always got through instantly and always someone that i can understand and is very polite on the other end of the phone, which is an absolute must for me

You are going to have to be careful that you don't fall foul of the DVLA's modified vehicle rules and you will certainly not be MOT exempt.

Hi Peter,

A good point, that I had forgotten ... or maybe my sub-concious (sp?) told me there wouldn't be a problem.

Memory says an engine change loses you only one Brownie point. I can't remember anything about different wheels/tyres, but I'll check.

At the moment, the plan is to retain the original 4x2 gearbox, which will mean NOT having to put the handbrake into the rear axle.

Barbara is nagging me about brekky. Doh! More anon!
