If you are interested in its Military history the Royal Logistic Corps Museum may well have its "B" Card, which was filled in when it went into service and lists every unit it served with, where and when, finishes with where it was sold off.
You can check its "ERM", its military registration number, shown on that data panel in front of the driver online and that will tell you if they have the card, if they do they'll send a copy for a few quid...

Good luck !

Paying £3500 for it , think it’s not too bad

If you've not handed over money yet then be very careful, its potentially going to be difficult to get a V5 without a lot of work, dating evidence from the Club etc. Try very hard to find out what its civvy Reg was and why its not got a Reg number now. If it's just a case of the current owner rummaging his filing cabinet a bit better.... Even an old photo ? Anything like that will help.

It's got a civvy rear cross member, what's the rest of the chassis like ???
