Title: Insurance keeps going up
Post by: trebor on November 20, 2019, 05:37:49 PM
My RH insurance is set to go up another £10 to £136.00. It started off a few years ago at £97.00. I have not made any claims or changes so I am getting hacked off. Can any one recommend another company.

Your Land-Rover is steadily climbing in value too don't forget.

Personally, at less than £2.62 a week, I can think of better things to be worried about.

See other topic (started today) about vehicle insurance.

Are you including insurance tax in your figures ?

Bob is insured with Haggerty, its loaded as it has a non standard engine, must be garaged or secure compound £114, which we feel is cheap even included full RAC and home start.
Just paid £176 for the P38 with Flux but its parked on the drive, 5000 miles inc commuting ( incase the daily driver won't start)
Its best to shop around and look at the total Package

£136? Mine is something like that but with MOT and VED exemption, AND the fact that the eurobox insurance is North of £400 with 60% NCD, I'm not greatly troubled by the Land Rover insurance will RH
I take the point of the steady rise in premium, mine was £60 at first, but that was 12 annual premiums ago!

Just been told NFU will only cover up to 3k miles & must be garaged: apparently their rules have/are changing.

Local to me they won't do Land Rovers unless you have other business with them, I tried with the house but almost 3 times as much cover is good but not worth the extra

Just received a renewal from LV and it has gone down a £1 to £101.00, the SWB is garaged and valued at £5000.00. I have a Boundless (CSMA) Multi Car discount.

Is the additional £10 on your renewal schedule? Or the final price when you have called them to start the negotiation on the renewal price?

£136 doesn’t sound a bad price, up £39 over a few years  ???

I’m with Footman James, have been for years, so still on a legacy policy up to five classic vehicles with the usual euro breakdown cover included, this year they are using the RAC  :first

I can add a new vehicle (up to five) in the same range for under a tenner + the usual unfortunate £25 administration fee!! Added the mini a few years ago, cost £3  :-X

Recently added the 1999 Jimny recently purchased from a fine chap on this here parish, cost £8

Because I pay for agreed value on the policy all the vehicle’s qualify, also unlimited miles due to being a series 2 club member  :-*

Can be parked on the drive, street or garage, like to keep it flexible.......

Think the current cost with all the extras is £170 ish, LWB with tdi, LWB fire truck with V8 and of course the little Japanese wagon..... great value in my opinion  :tiphat

FJ quoted me £600+ just for the P38? Flux £170 for the same cover? Its very fickle this insurance world

I'm with FJ for 3 series Land Rovers, 2 with engine changes TDI & 2.5 petrol) and high agreed values, only 1 garaged, unlimited miles and pay a lot more :agh but if they are stolen or written off  with cheaper policys will you be happy with the payout ???
