Title: O/T Wireless PCI
Post by: Dopey on December 21, 2020, 08:07:48 PM
I am changing my Internet provider... fed up with fast internet that costs way too much.... so went with very cheap and a bit slower... from 1 terabyte... to 10 mb...  :thud so I found an old PCI in a box it says it's a Tanda 54m 2.4 gig, Is that OK to still use and is it still up to date? Thanks

Do you mean Tenda, not Tanda?
If so, there should be a model number on it - do a search for that and you might find drivers for it.
Your problem might be getting drivers for it if you're running W10 or W7 if it's a few years old.

You could try it and see if drivers are picked up, but you might be better off with a new USB wifi dongle - less than a fiver and it will be picked up by W10 and installed automatically.

Loads on ebay - just search for usb wifi and select UK only.

Robin.

Yes... your right Tenda, thanks for the advice, I will try and get a driver first, I found and old WPN111 - RangeMax Wireless USB Adapter, and found a driver for that, I am using it now, but I wanted something out of the way and not using up my USB posts, and have some reach around the hose, but I will follow your advice, thanks Robin
