n Sunday 6th October the firm I drive for is having a vintage bus/coach car and commercial rally involving a 'mystery tour' road run culminating at Elvington Airfield near York. This is to celebrate 70 years in the coach trade. A similar event was run 2 years ago and I attended with my Land Rover and there were 2 more Land Rovers turned up. It would be great if a few more could come to make up a Land Rover contingent and I know the organiser, Phil Thornes, would be delighted. Although the emphasis is on 'vintage' other 'vehicles of interest' are welcome too so if anyone would like to participate send me a PM and I will send out entry forms. I might add that on arrival at the airfield we all line up as we would do at a steam rally etc. and then wander about talking the usual rubbish and telling tall stories to each other. Also ther is free admission to the Air Museum itself, which is very interesting. My friend's grandson loved it. Message me if interested.

I take it that must be Thornes - a nice company from my experience. Has Philip sorted out that series one of his yet?

It is Thornes and no, Phil's Series 1 is stuck in the back of the garage in permanent hibernation!
