Evening chaps. Just been offered a September 58 LWB Series 2. Trouble is its got a perkins engine and Unimog axles and a fecked bulkhead but on the bright side its got a V5 and the VIN plate is in place. Would it have had a 2L petrol originally. Its on its original plate. Chassis is recoverable. Seller wants £1000 for it. Is it worth that. Its also got genuine 1 Tons fitted.

If you mean what I think you mean by "genuine 1 tons fitted" you no doubt know what they are worth...

It would have been a 2.25 engine. They didn't fit the 2.0 to the LWB models

Can't see you losing any money if you can grab it for £1k

Trouble is, only last night i brought a 61 LWB home and shes completely original with the original plate. Where do i stop. This one would make 10 Series Land Rover ???. Albeit in varying states of disrepair. AAaaaAAAaAHhhHHHhHH.

I see the problem... One could suggest that this dilemma might be getting out of hand...
Maybe see if somebody else in the Club wants it? That way it survives without you adding to your collection.
-
a september 58 would make it a 59 model year
So not (quite) as rare as a 58 model year.
If that makes it easier to turn down!!

Yea, my son found that out. I bought it. Couldnt resist it. It can go in the shed alongside the 61 LWB i bought on Wednesday :stars. Got 3 Series 3s for sale now :shakeinghead
