Title: OT = Cellulose thinners
Post by: Worf on October 04, 2019, 03:50:37 PM
Most of us probably have a can kicking around somewhere - just discovered a new use.

We have an old "french polished" table which had some really nasty white rings on the top (probably tea mug or pint pot). Tried all the google remedies to remove them and nothing worked. Table was not worth the cost of professional repolish and was probably about to be sent to the tip by SWMBO, so I tried celly thinners on it and it worked an absolute treat. Use lint free cloth and just enough thinners to wet the area. Carefully repeat if mark is still there, then some furniture polish when it is dry. I did the whole top to make sure it didnt look patchy.

Worked an absolute treat. Worth a try if nothing else works. I should have taken some before and after pics.

Apologies if you are a French Polisher (other nationalities welcome)  ;)

It's amazing what people come up with when using "Stuff" for other than their intended original use.

Like me for instance. I was using Oven Cleaner to clean Carbon off piston tops and the head and valves. Worked a treat.  :tiphat
