These 'land rover' chairs, are they designed to fit somewhere, slot in between the arches for example, or are they just a canvas folding chair that folk call land rover chairs?
-
I don't know if there was meant to be an image with your question?
But it is extraordinary that many dealers sell what they call "Land Rover chairs" which are simply Chairs, folding NSN 7105-99-120-8751
Dissecting the NATO Stock Number shows that the NSC 7105 relates to Household & Camping items. If it was 2540 then it would be Vehicle Furniture & Accessories which it ain't!
Just one of those silly myths. Although I do carry one in my Land Rover, but as it already has seats I use it in a camping role for which it was intended.

^^^^ Indeed, just a folding chair for use in the field. Probably became associated with Landrovers through use in the 9x9 "Command Post" tent behind an FFR. Pretty comfortable chairs and a lot stronger than the nasty junk the camping shops sell nowadays :-)

Chairs, officers for the use of.
These were being sold off 10 years ago by the ex army suppliers at the big Sandy shows = £5 each, there were piles of them.
Many of us grabbed a bargain. Not so common now.

Sitting on one now in the house.
I have been suffering from ‘pandemic bum’ by sitting for hours working from home on a typist chair. Discovered the army chairs are a perfect tonic for this. Very comfy. I have 5 , but hard to get these days.

Nope, that 9x9 would have contained several spotty 19 year old radio operators too...
:neener
I saw an ebay ad for the modern version a while back, canvas replaced with nylon etc...

Can't beat the original design :first

Although later versions were no longer canvas being replaced by nylon which is more resilient & less stretchy as this user would confirm.

But once the frame snaps the downfall can be quite rapid : (
