Truck cab roof liner
« on: October 25, 2019, 10:07:47 PM »

Are there any other options other than the LaSalle for Series truck cab roof liners? I fancy doing something nicer with it other than just bare metal.

Anyone got any good ideas or pictures of what they have done with theirs?

Hi
I did my truck cab roof in acoustic black speaker cloth ,cooler in the summer and adds as sound proofing, also stops condensation in the winter stuck with carpet spray glue.

I have the original headliner and frame, or what’s left of it, on my project truck cab. I can get some pictures and post them up if you would like.

I did a hard top with needle cord carpet and spray glue, it looked good but after a hard winter it came unstuck in places due to condensation :shakeinghead and is then hard to clean up

I used acoustic materiel as well (but dark grey). The Land Rover lives outside in all weathers. Did it 5 years ago and it still looks brand new. I’ll post some photos when I get a chance

Interested here too.

Good idea to do the doors at the same time in the same stuff.
It is a job I keep saying I'm going to do, but never get round to it and I just put up with the drips in winter.

Hi,

Many years ago, one of the custom car magazines suggested that there was an opportunity to make a "red velvet Chevrolet"

They were discussing a new (?) system of flock spraying. I suspect that I have seen trailer caravans finished in "flock spray".

I suggest it would be a good "finish" for Series in-door panels. I understand that it is very durable  ... unless you touch it before the resin sets.

Does anybody know more than I do?

Here's some poor photos of mine. Its grey acoustic material from ebay. Been fitted a number of years & still look spot on (in my opinion)
