Just thought this may be of interest?

Here's something I did 10 years ago now.
The tyres did eventually disintegrate with abuse and I sold the wheels on to someone else.

That was an impressive restoration of the wheels.  Thanks for sharing!

Was it really warm enough for spraying?

Not really but I bought a cheap white gazebo with clear sides off ebay and have been using that and a heater as an impromptu spray booth......works a treat  :cool

That's brilliant. They're looking good. It's good to have somewhere warm and dry to work in.
Try and keep some heat in tonight, it's going to freeze.

Thanks!  I am really pleased with the results.

It's not ideal, and still not as warm as I would want, to cure the paint off quicker, but it's good enough for an old Land Rover that is going to get muddy  :RHD

That's what it's all about. It ain't got to be too pretty, just good enough to use.
I've been down the Concours route before and found I couldn't bring myself to leave the vehicle for any length of time for fear of someone touching it.

Glad it was your wheels Fluff. When I started reading I thought it was going to be your gear knob project which still scares me!

How long should you store wheels just painted before trying to fit tyres and wheel nuts without scraping the paint off?
I ask as in the past I've been to quick >:(

That's a difficult one to answer. I'd have a word with your tyre fitter and ask how careful he can be.
