Unfortunately there is no test (medical or scientific) to determine if someone is actually offended.
(Just like whiplash injuries.)

Therefore in my book, in my world, being "offended" has no meaning,.
Indeed, people who push the claim are time wasters and e'er-do-wells who just like wasting peoples time - just because they can  :shakeinghead

I hold to the belief that if I have an opinion that offends another person, then that is their problem. I have the right, as do they, to have an opinion and with the right of free speech I have the right to express that opinion. For example, would I be racist if I were to say that when using an overseas call centre, it is sometimes difficult to understand what they are saying or am I just giving my opinion & stating a fact. This actually happened to Michael Vaughan (cricketer/commentator) and if I have the facts correct, he was deemed to have been racist.

Our democracy is imperceptibly being shaped by what I call the loud minority. Freedoms, historically taken for granted, are being eroded by force of that minority. Political expediency demands that that minority have greater influence over policy than they should, resulting in ridiculous rules, restrictions & laws.

Being offended is not the same as seeing a wrong and calling out the wrong doer e.g., Scofield/Willoughby jumping the queue & Russia invading Ukraine.

Hi,

Way back when, somebody complained about the way the telephone staff at DVLC answered the phone .....

"Driver Enquiries, You nit!"

As you probably know, your driver number starts with the first five characters of your surname. A team of Executives spent a long time identifying names that had to be distorted, to avoid offence. (Barbara was offended because they banned her from that team) Somehow, Mr Penistead slipped through that net.
