Not unusual...

There were a lot of human errors when the old log book data was transferred onto the new DVLC computer at Swansea back in the early '70s.

It is often possible to get errors/typos corrected.

BUT (again) you need to consult Peter our VRO as to how best to proceed. The general rule is to only submit one change at-a-time to the DVLA as they get easily "confused".

Did I miss something but why does the OP figure the V5 is wrong with regards to the engine number?

I think the OP's concern was to do with stated cylinder capacity rather than the engine number. Its shows as a 2.0L on the V5C if read this correctly.

That is a. Minor problem as far as correcting the V5 is concerned.  Some V5s don't not event have an engine capacity and my own Romahome motorcars an is described as a car derived van whilst our previous identical model only a few months older was described as a motor caravan.  I am a n the process of getting DVLA to correct the body type

The engine size of 1997cc is likely to be a clerical error.

Well, I'm glad you have all come to the same conclusion.

Eventually..... :whistle

My '64 88" was first bought by a farming estate and was not registered until they sold it on 12 years or so later......
