Seat Covers
« on: December 30, 2022, 04:35:31 PM »

Hello everyone!

Grover's original front seats, as well as the rear jump seats, are in really rough condition, especially the rear ones.  When it came time to add the front seats we decided to go with the latter version deluxe seats; the originals have been stored for the future, in case I decide to restore or some future owner decides to.

From day one of having them, I've been considering seat covers.  About 3 weeks ago, while working with Santa, an incident occurred that almost resulted in a rather large gash/hole being ripped out on the passenger seat.  This really drove home the desire for covers.

A few years back, I saw some really nice homemade ones for the traditional style seats.  These were made of a heavy-duty duck cloth and I've wanted something similar since.

No one out there seems to make covers for these seats, but there are some out there that are similar.  I know of one company that does make them for the deluxe seats, but... they cost double what the seats themselves cost and come in only one color, and it isn't pleasant to look at IMHO.

So, do any of y'all know of someone who has a sewing pattern?  Surely, someone else out there has made their own covers for this style of seat.

Cheers!
Larry

If there is a pattern out there, I'd be interested in getting it also.

I'm looking for something similar myself
I've found these for sale in Australia but they are hugely expensive

Those are the ones I eluded to.  Their price is even higher the Exmoor and Melville & Moon!!!

And I'm fairly certain shipping wouldn't be cheap.
