Laser cutting - anyone able to do mild steel cutting?
« on: November 21, 2019, 01:16:50 PM »

I'm looking for someone who can cut a piece of mild steel, 5 or 6mm thick with a laser cutter of a Land Rover badge I've got drawn up (DXF file available) that I can then weld to a roof rack I'm making.  I've emailed a number of online companies for a quote, they seem to have a minimum price that makes the badge worth more than gold - I understand cost of wages etc comes into it.  Anyone out there?

Thanks

I have a very good local company to me I'm quite friendly with. They helped me out when I produced a batch of 109" rear mudflap brackets.

I can ask them if you like for a quote? If favourable I can collect and post to you no problem.

Craig.

I’ve got a mate that does laser and waterjet cutting in Kettering that I can put you in touch with.

You could try your local Barclays Eagle Labs. Can be cost effective for kit access and often very helpful.
