CLR April 2023 Issue
« on: March 06, 2023, 12:19:36 PM »

In the April issue of CLR there's an article about buying a second hand chassis for use on a different vehicle.
I'm surprised this was published. It seems that the buyer of the chassis is unaware of the DVLA reaction. The Land Rover owner is obliged to inform them of the chassis change and using a second hand chassis the identity of which is a different vehicle will surely result in a Q plate and the loss of historic tax and MOT exemption.

I've emailed  CLR pointing out all the pitfalls of using a second hand chassis.

....and the insurance company has to be told as well. I don't know what insurers would make of a second hand chassis.
