Discovery 1 or Discovery 2? The Discovery 2 roof is wider than the Discovery 1. I'm pretty sure its also welded on - not easy to remove in one piece.

I thought one of them unbolted at the drip rail ala Series. Just thought it would be an interesting conversion.

Unfortunately not... The Range Rover Classic one did, but the Discovery one on both models was part of the welded shell. When the Discovery first came out, we had a good line in replacing roofs having extracted them from low underground car parks... Big job and quite a few came to grief before people realised how high they were. If you consider that the most common trade in vehicle for the early Discovery 1 was a Volvo Estate, its easy to understand why that type of owner kept getting it wrong. One client of ours managed to get her Discovery stuck in the same car part in South West London twice in the space of two months!

Off topic even further, but a bit of fun... I found out during multiple Bosnian winters, that a non sunroof Range Rover Classic roof, well waxed up makes a terrific toboggan.  :cheers

I would have thought it far easies to fit a pop top to a series roof than a disco roof with the step in it.

Didn't someone on here fit a Mazda Bongo pop up roof to a Series?

I'd really like to fit an Alu-cab to my 109, they only come to fit the Defender windscreen. And they are out of my price range.... :stars  Not a big fan of the Dormobile conversion.

Another point about the Discovery roof is that it curves at the front following the line of the windscreen. You'd have fun getting that to fit with a Series Windscreen frame.

Hi,

Similarly, a DEFENDER roof will not fit a SERIES.

The top of a Defender wind screen has got rounded corners.
