What is the best paint match for factory oe bronze green
« on: May 03, 2023, 12:03:35 PM »

Has anyone used tekaloid or smith and allen?

It would be for brush application and must be close to remaining factory finish that is in good order.

I didnt find Tekaloid as good or as easy to use as as it used to be and I coudnt get rid of the brush marks, if you are trying to touch up dont forget the original will have faded.

I hear good things about HMG paints and a friend made a superb job of his with a roller

It is to paint driver and passenger door NOS, they are blue at present, will they need to go back to bare and have etch or similar?

I will have a look at HMG, I had not considered roller, does paint need to be thinned to stop it pulling off.

Due to nature of panel it would be laid flat on trestles, unless that is a no no.

You need a smooth foam roller, not the fluffy ones, on a small roller.
I’ve had good results with Paintman’s paint straight from the tin as long as the weather is not too hot.
I think Paintman paints are HMG
