Landy to pub.

It has been  @#$&% hot here the last few days. 41 Celsius yesterday. Once the sea breeze came in I decorated the car for Xmas and drove to pub at local beach. It is amazing the positive buzz the old Landy gets.

Somehow, Hot and Christmas don't go together in this part of the world.

In 2004 we did hot and Xmas in Malaysia. I think we must accept late December is not a month unique to us, nonetheless it really didn't work. I used to travel a fair bit in the Far East on business. I don't know if this is still the case but it was not usual to see Xmas trees in hotel foyers, middle of May/June. You had to smile.

But back to 2004. We were 14 floors up, when the hotel block shook.  Some would have it there's a benevolent sky-pixie, if there is, that morning, this pixie was minded to conjure  up a Tsunami - and murder 230,000.  I have to say; stuck out there, as we were, the British Consolate were stunning. Away from the epicentre, we were not hurt, just very shaken.

The way the BC handled it, made me proud to be a Brit.
