Pressure tested 2.25 diesel head value
« on: January 11, 2020, 04:40:12 PM »

Could anyone tell me if there is any value in a 2.25 diesel head that will be pressure tested?  I have 2 heads, only need one but the engineering company are suggesting to get both done.

Thanks

I think there is value in them ... I too have 2 spare heads and a spare engine. I plan to take the head of the good engine (it has the newest head) do the guides and valves and swap it over with my current running diesel. I then will refurbish the heads and have spares.

They become worth something when someone has a head failure and needs a working head.

But their real value is to you as a time saver. You have a head/engine problem and you just swap them over - done in a day.

Can't speak for deseasel, but if it helps, a servicable 2.25 petrol comes in at £200 a pop.

..............I have 2 heads..........

Thanks
David

Is your real name Zaphod Beeblebrox?   :-X

The last 2.25 Diesel head I bought was untested.  It was advertised on this forum for quite a while at 20 quid.  There were no takers at that price so my offer of 10 quid was accepted.
