What Parts are these ???
« on: January 26, 2020, 04:38:28 PM »

Anyone able to identify these parts ???  - see photos

I bought them a LONG time ago from the " Orphanage " and cannot remember what they are

They are 10" long and 1" to 1 1/8" wide and made from steel, black painted

There are four evenly spaced 3/16" holes drilled and also two captive nuts either end - 3/16" thread

The NATO stock number relates to makers number 333607.  This is described as “support seat box centre“.

I suspect a fixing bracket for the centre seat box perhaps when using artic heater or for FFR?

Cheers

Interestingly, having found the part in the standard parts catalogue (not military) there is one per vehicle, if it's a 2.25 diesel, or 2.6 petrol, and it's fitted to the heelboard with 4 pop rivets.
No, it isn't pictured in the '68 list, you have to read the text listing; it is part of the many items listed under diagram number 7, this list spans two pages.

Ah ha, going the extra mile, in the '87 list, where every part is pictured, but there is no text list, the part is shown.
It provides extra support to the front edge of the seat box when a central tool tray is fitted.
Just to keep the struggle going, the part itself is shown as NLS, but is shown as only for the 2.25 diesel and the 2.6. The rivets are also shown, and numbered, 78248.

After pinning it down I thought I'd better check; no, I don't need one (so I don't need to know your location :-)
Regards.

Thanks for the background information David, appreciated  :tiphat

I have earlier catalogues but not the later ones which is where I was struggling.
