This is another sign of the confusing advice/information. We got an email from the National Allotment Association saying Govt. guidance put allotments in the 'you can do this' category. Get out of the house and exercise, but still maintains social isolation. However, with the garden centres shut where can you buy things you need, seeds & seedlings online I suppose but fertiliser ? Then they went on to add if you were stopped in your car by the police, would they see it as an essential journey ? Still a grey area not yet clarified - confusion rains !

Seems to be similar advice for different areas - we've been told by the Council that working the plot on our site is fine, as long as you have no more than 2 people per plot (from the same household) and banned from going to any other plot than your own. However the email also clearly states that driving to the plot is banned, so you can only do it if you walk there (with whatever you need to take with you).  We're fortunate in that both me and the Mrs are key workers and the location we have to attend once a week or so is 20 yards away from the plot, so we can legitimately drive close enough to work for a bit, then walk around the corner to the plot.
