The vent levers appear to be the standard type introduced in, I believe, August 1960. The indicator came in at the same time (possible because the horn bracket was no longer required when the centre push horn was introduced, creating a space where the indicator could be mounted, rather than the previous dash-mounted switch type as per the S1).

Most indicator systems were post build fits at that time and so I think that the type of switch is not conclusive proof.  (Our 59 had no indicators when it came to us in 1963 and our 58 didnt gain indicators till the 1970s, neither have a Tex Magna switch, both have a Lucas dash mounted switch).

Just read through the SII timeline on the website and it seem by Dec ‘60, the indicator switch, vent levers and centre horn button were becoming standard. So, you can disregard my comments below :)

My March 1960 definitely had a black crackle painted wheel centre.

There was very little (if any) evidence on my Jan 59 of paint, but I was going to replicate the black crackle finish on that one too.

Hi Tom

Mine is a May 1960, should it have a black crackle steering wheel centre too?
